In Milan City, residents most often enjoy their time with their family members and pets. However, there can be many risks that can break this chain of happiness, such as pest infestation. Moreover, if you have a pet at home, it can also get infested with fleas. Fleas are small critters that are persistent and reproduce quickly. They feed on animal’s blood to keep their life cycle on the move. As a resident of Milan City, seeking assistance from the exterminators in Milan will help you break the flea infestation cycle.

Understanding the life cycle of fleas.

Fleas are tiny critters that are persistent and reproduce rapidly. These small creatures cause harm to both humans and animals. Fleas feed on animal’s blood and leave them infected. If you want to break their infestation cycle, you must make sure that you are aware of their lifecycle.

A flea’s life cycle consists of four stages: egg, larvae, pupae, and adult. A female flea can lay hundreds of eggs in a couple of days. Hence, the eggs can be anywhere on your pet, blanket, food, and many more. After the eggs are hatched, they become larvae. Larvae are tiny worm-like pests that stay under objects to avoid light and feed on feces.

After feeding on feces, the larvae turn into pupae. Pupae is a cocoon-like insect that the flea stays under the cocoon. After a few days, the pupae convert into an adult flea, which feeds on the blood of the cocoon and other living organisms. After meeting their condition, they again start laying eggs, and the process continues.

How to break the infestation cycle of fleas?

    Vacuum all the areas

You must start with cleaning your house by vacuuming your doormat, carpet, rugs, blankets, and house structures. Make sure you clean the areas where your pet spends most of their time. By vacuuming your house, you can rest assured of eggs, larvae, pupae, and adult fleas. In addition, do not forget the area where your shoes are kept.

    Washing

You must make sure that your bedding, like pillow covers, blankets, bedsheets, and your pet’s bedding, should be washed regularly. Since you do not know when and where the fleas laid their eggs, make sure that you wash with warm water since pests cannot bear heat.

    Use pesticides to control fleas.

You can also use pesticides to control the flea infestation. Make sure you use the chemical products under the guidance of your pest control service since they will prescribe the chemicals that are suitable for your home environment.

If you are dealing with flea infestation, make sure you consult with your pest control team today.
